Platos

Plato’s was a completely new venture for an experienced restaurant group. With long term experience in running country gastro-pubs, they decided to launch a boutique B&B with restaurant, bar and rooms in a town centre setting. They appointed Apparatus to oversee all elements of the launch.

What we did

We were briefed to bring some urban chic to Kirkby Lonsdale, a small market town that is popular with tourists to the Lake District. Plato’s needed to stand apart from the other good restaurants that the town offers and the branding needed to drive its positioning. Apparatus was appointed because of our highly creative portfolio, the business owners knew that we would manage the project with care and attention to detail. For over 100 years, the building had been a wine merchants and pop bottler so we took our inspiration from its heritage. As well as overseeing the corporate identity, we worked with the interior designers on developing the internal ambience for both the public areas and the bedrooms and then ensured that all collateral including menus, wall art, and signage were in keeping. Plato’s is now a thriving business with 5 star reviews from Tripadvisor. We are proud of the part we played in building such a major player in a competitive tourist environment.
